Poster for Buckhorn Artists' Group Exhibit at APFTA

Today, I completed the poster for the Buckhorn Artists' Group exhibition at A Place For The Arts in Bancroft, Ontario and had it printed.

I will take it up to Bancroft on the weekend and put it in the window at the Gallery.

Their exhibit will go in the day after my show comes down.

If you get a chance please come out and visit my exhibit which opened yesterday as well as their show, which runs from 29 July to 30 August 2020.

Countryside Art Group Poster for Library Exhibit

Today I picked up a number of posters for our exhibit at the Douro-Dummer Library Art Gallery.

Tomorrow we will be hanging the show, while today I will be going around and putting up posters throughout the area.

The exhibit will run from 03 May through to 04 July 18.

If you have a chance, come out for our opening on Friday, 11 May from 7-8 p.m.

Rural Outlook Poster

Today I completed the poster and invitations for the KAGS Outdoor Painters' Group art show called "Rural Outlook".

After I had it proof read by Cindy Allan and Norma MacEachern my co-conveners I went and had it and the invitations for the exhibit printed and the members of the Group were emailed to come in to pick them up and distribute them throughout the area.

It should be an interesting show with 14 artists displaying their art work.

The show runs from 25 October through to 12 November with the opening reception on Sunday 29 October 2017 from 1-4 p.m.

I hope you are able to come out and enjoy the exhibit.

Poster for Shades of Summer Show

Today I made up my poster for the 27th Annual Buckhorn Artists’ Group Art Show and Sale.

This year the exhibit runs from 17-20 August 2017.

I hope some of you will make plans to come out and view the show.

Poster for Affordableism

This is the poster for the "Affordableism" exhibit at Art on Kent which features one piece of my art.

The show begins on 24 November and runs through to 17 December 2016, then closes for Christmas and New Year's holiday and reopens from 05-14 January 2017.

The Opening Reception is on 26 November 2016 from 1-3p.m.

Hopefully some of you will be able to come out and view the exhibit.

Feast for the Eyes Poster

This is the poster for the "Feast for the Eyes" exhibit at Art on Kent which features my art and photography.

The new show will run from 27 October to 19 November with the opening reception on 29 October from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.

Elements of Nature Poster

This morning I went to the Dancing Blueberries in Peterborough and met with Howard Berry to take down my paintings and help him hang his paintings.

It didn't take very long to exchange the paintings and I continued on my way to the printer's to pick up the posters and invitations for the upcoming KAGS Outdoor Painters' Group Show called "Elements of Nature" before heading to the Gallery.

I was pleased to see that one of my paintings was selected to appear on this year's poster.

The show runs from 11-29 November 15 with the opening being on 15 November 2015 from 1:00-4:00p.m.

I hope to see some of you at the opening of the show.

Small Treasures Poster and Art Show

My artwork appears on the poster for the upcoming Small Treasures Show, which is a fundraiser for the Best of High School Art Show held in May.

Art is a very difficult field in which to earn a living; but it is important in that it is a form of expression, it can evoke emotion in the viewer, be thought provoking, make a statement or cause one to see the world in a different way.

It has been with us for thousands of years and should not become something that is lost with time and a lack of encouragement.

I am not the only one at KAGS that feels it is important to encourage the next generation of artists. KAGS supplied up to three canvases to any member artist that was interested in helping with this fund raiser. The response was wonderful with almost 30% of KAGS artists willing to donate their time and talent to create paintings for this show.

The upcoming art show called 'Small Treasures' is a little different than what is normally the way an art exhibit is ran at the Kawartha Artists' Gallery and Studio. Instead of the public buying the art from the artist as they see it at the Gallery both the public and Gallery members will be eligible to purchase tickets at $30.00 each (with all proceeds going for prize money for the Best of High School Art Show) starting on Wednesday, 18 March until the start of the final day on Sunday, 29 March, with no more tickets available than the number of paintings exhibited.

Tickets will be drawn on the final afternoon of the exhibit starting at 2:00pm with the first name drawn having the first choice of one of the paintings on display. This will continue until all the purchased tickets have been drawn.

The Best of High School Art Show was the idea of Cap Leahy who together with Barry Parsons (both of whom are members of the Outdoor Painters' Group) held the first show at KAGS in the mid-1990s and it has been an annual event ever since. We have had students enter our show from the Kawartha Pine Ridge School Region, as well as schools from Norwood, Lakefield, Lindsay, Peterborough and the surrounding area.

Prizes are from many different fund raising events over the course of the year such as the Annual ODPG silent auction for artwork by their members and the KAGS Christmas Silent Auction, last year funds were raised at the show held at the Lockside Trading Post with artists donating 25% of the proceeds from their art sales, private individuals and with generous donations from the Rose Baker Fund and the Retired Teachers Association.

Prizes for this annual event are given to the students in the form of cash and gift certificates from Victory Art Supply.

Poster for Abstractions and Contraptions

I just found out that one of my paintings "Stained Glass" (see post on 23 January 2012), that I had submitted for the Abstractions and Contraptions Show with KAN held at Art on Kent in Lindsay.

It is a pleasant surprise with it being the third time my artwork has been selected for one of their posters.

Water, Water Show Poster

I just found out that one of my paintings "Spotted Drumfish - Juvenile 2" (see post on 23 February 2011), that I had submitted for the Water, Water Everywhere Show with KAN held at Art on Kent in Lindsay.

It is a pleasant surprise with it being the second time my artwork has been selected for one of their posters.

The Drawing Show Poster

I just found out that one of my paintings "1950 Ford Custom V8 Convertible" (see post on 10 February 2010), that I had submitted for the Drawing Show with KAN held at Art on Kent in Lindsay.

It is a new promotional poster with a collage of paintings submitted for the exhibition that they started this year beginning with last month's show.

It was a pleasant surprise to have my artwork selected for one of their posters.

ODP Skies Art Show Poster

Today was a rather nice day with warm weather and a mix of sun and cloud with scattered showers.

At the Executive meeting at KAGS I found out that my painting "Through the Storm" (see posting on 19 April 2013) was selected for the Outdoor Painters' Skies Show Poster.

Next I would like to thank long time collector Mme. Cecile Desrochers of Ste-Ramon, Quebec on her purchase of Sable Island Wreck (see posting on 21 April 2012).
