New Exhibit at the Academy Theatre

Today the members of the Kawartha Arts Network changed their paintings in the Guild Room at the Academy Theatre.

This exhibit will run from 24 March through to 26 May 2018.













For this show I have three paintings on display.

















The first two paintings are hanging over the piano at the far end of the room.

The Kawartha Arts Network will be holding a silent auction at the Academy Theatre on 04 May at the same time as the Bruce Cockburn: Bone on Bone Tour.

The silent auction is a fundraiser in support of the Theatre and our way to thank them for allowing us to exhibit our art in the Guild Room.

If you have a chance, please come out to enjoy the performance at the Theatre, bid on one of the paintings and have a pleasant evening.

ODP Skies Art Show Poster

Today was a rather nice day with warm weather and a mix of sun and cloud with scattered showers.

At the Executive meeting at KAGS I found out that my painting "Through the Storm" (see posting on 19 April 2013) was selected for the Outdoor Painters' Skies Show Poster.

Next I would like to thank long time collector Mme. Cecile Desrochers of Ste-Ramon, Quebec on her purchase of Sable Island Wreck (see posting on 21 April 2012).

Information About the Peterborough in Portrait Show

I am heading into Peterborough to drop off my painting "Cherish" for the Peterborough in Portrait Show.

This fund raising Show is to be a week long Gala Event celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Community Living Peterborough.

This is the Calendar of Events for the Show:

June 15, 2013 - Preview Gala ($1,000 for a table of 6 [joined by 2 Ambassadors/Artists], $200 per plate, reception 6:00 pm, dinner 7:00 pm) with Musical entertainment by Bridget Foley and Friends and the Catering by Miguel Hernandez and Peterborough EATS

June 16, 2013 - Grand Opening (doors open at 12:00 pm, ceremony begins at 1:00 pm - light refreshments will be served) where Admission for the event will be "pay what you can".

June 17, 2013 - Exhibit open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm with the Annual General Meeting (Light Dinner at 5:00 pm, Meeting at 5:45 pm) and the Keynote speaker: MPP for Oshawa-Whitby, Christine Elliott

June 18, 2013 - Exhibit open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm with the YWCA Digital Storytelling Event (6:30 pm)

June 19, 2013 - Exhibit open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and the Night with the Artists (Invitation Only - 6:30 pm)

June 20, 2013 - Exhibit open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm with the YWCA Annual General Meeting

June 21, 2013 - Exhibit open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

June 22, 2013 - Exhibit open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (FREE ADMISSION)

Here's Looking at You

This 8" x 10" acrylic painting (see yesterday's posting) is pretty much finished. I may add a little more detail to the turtle after I leave it overnight and look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow.

The painting is being donated to "The Art of the Turtle" Auction. This is a fundraiser for the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre and will be held on 14 May 10, at the Peterborough Public Library Auditorium, 345 Aylmer Street North, Peterborough, Ont.















All these pieces works will be sold by silent auction. The event takes place from 7-10pm, with extended viewing beginning at 6pm. The silent auction will be ongoing followed by the live auction at 9pm. SOLD
