This is a painting I started last month (see post on 23 August 2013).
The closer island had been lightly sketched in and using French ultramarine blue and burnt sienna the rocks were painted first.
Then using the same colour the reflections were added below the rocks in the water.
The trunks of the pine trees were indicated using a pale mix of the rock colour.
Using various mixtures of French ultramarine blue, Antwerp blue, burnt sienna and raw sienna the pine needles were put onto the trees.
Some grasses were put in at the base of the trees using burnt sienna and raw sienna.
