With French ultramarine blue and raw sienna, I painted the pine trees in the foreground, just behind the large rocks on the shore.
Lightening the colour with water I put in the distant trees on top of the rocks on the far shoreline.

Lastly, I used various combinations of cadmium red, cadmium yellow, burnt sienna and new gamboge to put in the reflections of the sky colours in the water.
