In the early morning the sun is so low in the sky that it causes the shadows to be very long and stretch across the snow covered ground.
The bold colours of the sunrise have been painted in using Antwerp blue, raw sienna, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson and a touch of cadmium red light.
The tree shadows have been indicated across the snow using French ultramarine blue and burnt sienna, with a touch of alizarin crimson.
I will post this painting at a later date once I have added the trees and completed the painting.
