Going through my files I came across this piece I had started earlier this year (see post on 30 May 2013).
This painting was started with a limited palette of two colours, Antwerp blue and burnt sienna.I continued by painting the background trees with the same two colours against the top of the snow in the distance.
For the maple tree I used mainly Antwerp blue and added a small amount of burnt sienna to grey the colour.
Lastly I added growies and grasses at the bottom of the trees using raw sienna, burnt sienna and cadmium yellow.
