Using French ultramarine blue I darkened some areas of the ice on the water.
I added burnt sienna to the blue and painted in the tree trunks and branches on the larger trees, a slightly lighter mix was used on the twigs and bushes into the foreground.Next I used various mixtures of burnt sienna, raw sienna and new gamboge to put on the leaves as well as the grasses and growies at the base of the trees and bushes.
