MacKelvie Art Gallery

Yesterday I hung my three submissions for the exhibit in the MacKelvie Gallery at Lang Pioneer Village Museum in Keene, Ontario.

The Village was established by the County of Peterborough in 1967 to celebrate and preserve the rural history of the area. It features over thirty restored and furnished buildings constructed between 1825 and 1899.

Many of these buildings were donated by townships within Peterborough County and moved to their present site when the Museum was founded.

If you have a chance, come out and view the show and enjoy the harvest festivities. The show runs from 01 September - 06 October 2016.

On 04 September from 10:00am-4:00pm the Village will celebrate the harvest season and the 170th anniversary of the Lang Grist Mill.

The festivities will feature an all-day Harvest Corn Roast, live music throughout the day, horse and wagon rides, demonstrations by the Lang Pioneer Village Quilting Club, old fashioned children’s games and many more events.

The following month on 02 October is the Applefest, a colourful fall celebration of apples and the harvest season, with horse and wagon rides, live music and many more events.

Today I am off to set up my display for the Kawartha Art Festival in Fenelon Falls, Ontario.
