I thought I would finish this painting (see posts on 29 February, 11 May and 31 July 2016) that is the companion piece to the one I completed earlier this month (see post on 11 September 2016).
Using raw sienna and burnt sienna I put in the background grasses.
Next using a sponge and various mixtures of alizarin crimson, cadmium red, cadmium yellow and new gamboge I put the leaves on the maple trees.
I then used the same colours to scatter a few fallen leaves across the ground.
Keeping the colour more to the blue tones I mixed French ultramarine blue with a small amount of burnt sienna and put in the background shadows on the snow.
I put in the foreground grasses and growies.
