Long Shadows 4 and 5 - Two Works in Progress

I wanted to do a little more work on each of these two paintings that I had started a few years ago (see post on 28 November 2014).

Using a mixture of Antwerp blue and French ultramarine blue I brushed in the sky on each painting.

While the sky was drying I added a little more Antwerp blue to the sky colour and put in some the tops of the background trees.

Into the other painting I put in the frozen lake and added the shadows across the snow.
