Today I wanted to complete this painting that I had started last year (see posts on 03 October and 05 December 2018 and 02 February 2019).
I started by putting in the some pencil lines to divide up the remaining large spaces.
Using Antwerp blue I filled in one of the upper left section and let the second part white. From there I filled in the bottom part of the lower left sections.
On the top right space I used aureolin on the smaller part.
Using a small amount of cadmium red I filled in the top part of the lower left section leaving the centre space white.
Adding a some aureolin to the cadmium red, I painted in the remaining space.
If you would like more information about ACEO please go to my post on 11 March 2010.
The ACEO shown here is an original watercolour painting using Artist quality Winsor & Newton paint on 140lb. Arches 100% rag, acid free watercolour paper. It is priced at $20.00 and sold unframed.

Along the Road I
I thought I would work on this drawing that I had started last year (see posts on 12 September and 18 December 2018).
Starting in the middle section of the hill I drew in the pine trees that were in front of the background deciduous trees and higher than those that were in the centre section of the hill.
Next came the tops of the deciduous trees in front of the pines.
This was followed by putting in the pine trees showing above the closest trees by the road.
Lastly, I put in the deciduous trees at the edge of the road.
This original 7" x 9" pen and ink drawing will be available when matted and shrink wrapped for $60.00.

Big Cedar Lake I
What a wonderful surprise, to have my bunny came by this morning to eat some of the corn and other seeds that I put out for the birds on Easter Sunday.
He has been coming out to visit in the early morning since the middle of the winter and I hope he will continue to evade the predators.
Today I thought I would like to work on this drawing that I started a number of years ago (see posts on 23 August 2015, 09 October 2016 and 30 January 2017).
I started by putting in the boathouse and the rocks near it on the shoreline.
From there I finished putting in all the trees on the left side of the drawing surrounding the boathouse.
This original 5-1/2" x 9" pen and ink drawing will be available for $50.00 once it has been matted and shrink wrapped.

Moonlight Island
Today I wanted to finish this little acrylic painting that I had started quite some time ago (see posts on 19 October 2015 and 19 March 2017).
I started by adding more detail to the pine needles on the trees using various mixtures of ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, raw sienna and Hansa yellow.
Next I painted in dead branches onto the trees followed by adding some highlights onto the tree trunks.
Using a pencil I added some definition to the shape of the rocks.
Then using various mixes of alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, raw sienna ultramarine blue and cobalt blue I painted the rocks.
Lastly using titanium white I dotted in some stars into the sky, added highlights on some of the rocks and added a few ripples into the water at the base of the rocks.
This original 8" x 10" acrylic painting when framed will be available for $225.00.

ACEO - Morning Pond 1
Today I wanted to work on something that wouldn't take a lot of time to complete so I pulled out this painting that I had started earlier this year (see post on 01 January 2019).
I started in the background and completed the pine trees and areas of brush and deciduous trees using carious mixtures of Antwerp blue, French ultramarine blue, raw sienna, aureolin and new gamboge.
Adding a little more Antwerp blue to some of the pale green I brushed in the water of the pond.
Using a darker green I put in the background reeds and the stalks on the foreground reeds.
Next using burnt sienna and French ultramarine blue I painted in the cattails, being careful to leave areas on two of them for the pale coloured open seed heads. I also indicated a few cattail heads into the background reeds.
Lastly, I put in the foreground reeds using a mix of French ultramarine blue, Antwerp blue and aureolin.
If you would like more information about ACEO please go to my post on 11 March 2010.

Burleigh Inn Pine Tree I
It is a mild, rainy spring day and I thought since it is a good day to stay inside and work on a drawing.
I chose this one that I have been working on for a couple of years (see posts on 08 June and 21 October 2017, 02 August and 08 October 2018).
There only thing left do was add the shadows onto the rocks. I started on the rocks in the background keeping them fairly light and indistinct.
I added more detailed shadows to the foreground rocks.
This original 9" x 12" pen and ink drawing, when matted and shrink wrapped will be available for $75.00.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and enjoy the artwork.

Old Cottage II
Winter just doesn't want to leave, but with the high today of 54F (12C) the snow we received yesterday should soon be gone.
I thought that I would like to finish this drawing that I started a number of years ago (see posts on 14 July 2013, 31 May 2016 and 18 January 2018).
The only thing that was left to do on this picture was to add the shading into the interior of the building showing in the open doorway of the cottage.
This original 7" x 9” pen and ink drawing when framed will be available for $150.00.

Well, Hello There
Today I am at KAGS for the still life class which features toys and stuffed animals.
I decided to do the lamb with its front legs hanging down below the riser at the back of the display, making it seem as though it wanted to meet the knitted toy elephant.
I put a few wooden blocks into the drawing near the elephant.
I may go back into the drawing and put the corner on the cloth covered riser.
Thank you for coming to look at my artwork and I hope you will return often.

Northern Lights
It is a miserable day with the temperature hovering around 41F (5C) and we have mixed precipitation falling to put the icing on the cake.
I decided I would get this painting finished today as I have been working on it for a long time (see posts on 09 December 2010, 21 February, 29 May, 10 July and 29 August 2012, 25 May and 25 July 2016 and 09 July 2018).
Using mixtures of French ultramarine blue, burnt sienna and alizarin crimson, I finished the trunk and broken branches on the dead tree on the left side first.
From there I completed the pine tree on the far left side before working on the smaller trees on the far side of the lake.
This original 7" x 11-1/4” watercolour painting when framed will be available for $245.00.

Broken Birch 1
Today it made it up to 45F (7C), with sun in the morning, but in the late afternoon as the temperature started to drop and the wind came up, we received rain, which changed to ice pellets, then snow before clearing just long enough to be able to see the sun set.
I went out in the morning to run a few errands and on the way home along one of the back roads and I stopped and did this little drawing of some birch trees.
They were at the edge of the road with a water filled ditch before them.
I moved the birch trees to the foreground and changed the ditch into a creek and added some smaller trees.
The nice thing was that I returned home before the weather changed and was able to enjoy the sunset.
