Lean To I

This is another of the local barns in Smith Township.

One day I would like to do a series of large paintings (see posting on 02 February 2010) of the many local barns.











Lean To I is an original 3" x 5" pen and ink which when matted and shrink wrapped will be available for $25.00.

Reflected Trees 2 - A Work in Progress

Today I just couldn't get into painting so I played with my two most used colours, French ultramarine blue and burnt sienna.

I washed in the sky and then started painting in some dark trees, which just weren't working.

So I turned it upside down and lifted some lines of white from the painting to make it look like the trees were reflected into water.

I am going to put a duck swimming in the water. I will post this painting again once it is completed.

Fishing Gear - A Work in Progress

Today Bob brought in his fly fishing gear for our Still Life class at KAGS.

After completing my sketch I blocked in the base colours of the creel (wicker basket for carrying fish) and the wooden of the handle of the fish net with raw sienna and burnt sienna. Then using pure burnt sienna I did the under painting of the hip waders.

I made a fair amount of progress in the three hours I had to work on the piece. I will post this painting at a later date once I have finished more on it, but I am not looking forward to painting the wicker work on the creel.

OSWOA - Overgrown Field 1

Often while driving through the country you will come across many farms that are no longer being worked and the fields are left to become overgrown with weeds. The barns are run down and falling apart soon to collapse and disappear forever.

ACEO - Fenced Field 1

When driving along the highway out in the country often all you will see is open land with a simple wire fence marking the boundary line.

I may do a series of fence line scenes with the different things found behind a fence; pastureland, farmland, marsh, forest, etc.
