Shadows I
This is a drawing that I have been working on of a while (see posts on 26 May 2013, 16 February and 03 May 2017).
First I put in the far shore of the lake into the background and added the trees.
Next I worked on the rocks in the middle area of the drawing, adding shadow to the various rocks.
This original 6" x 9" pen and ink drawing when matter and shrink wrapped will be available for $40.00.

Lone Tree I
Today I wanted to finish this drawing that I had started a couple of years ago (see post on 01 April 2015).It didn't take very long to apply the pen and ink onto the tree trunk and branches.
I added the grasses and growies to the base of the tree to complete the drawing.
This original 2-3/4" x 9” pen and ink drawing when matted and shrink wrapped will be available for $30.00.

Poster for Shades of Summer Show
Today I made up my poster for the 27th Annual Buckhorn Artists’ Group Art Show and Sale.This year the exhibit runs from 17-20 August 2017.

Back Forty I-III
Today Ron and I went out in the side by side again and this time we went into the "back forty" which are the fields at the east end of the property before we get into the marsh and the Snelgrove Brook that divides our farm from the acreage we have on the other side of the marsh.

He worked on removing the larger rocks that could break teach on the mower during haying season and put them into the dump box while I sketched.
Back Forty II
My first sketch was of the "fork" which is where the trail comes down from the middle field into the back field and branches off into the south back field and the south middle field.
My second sketch was of the entryway to the south bottom field with the large trees on each side.

My last sketch was of the hill in the bottom middle field with the trail leading up to the small north field at the top, right beside the 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of sugar bush.

ACEO - Sunset Island 3
This is a painting that I started last month while teaching a class in watercolour (see post on 31 May 2017).
Using various mixtures of French ultramarine blue and burnt sienna I started by putting in the distant shoreline.
With a darker mix I put in the rocks of the foreground island and then added the pine trees and growies.
Next I finished the painting by putting some reflections into the water below the far shore and the island.
The ACEO shown here is an original watercolour painting using Artist quality Winsor & Newton paint on either 140lb. Arches 100% rag, acid free watercolour paper. It is priced at $20.00 and sold unframed.

Front Field I-III
Today we unloaded my new toy off the trailer and took it through the front fields.
Ron stopped along the way to pick some of the larger rocks and put them in the dump box at the back of the side by side in preparation to seeding the fields with hay.

While he was working at the top of the field I did a sketch of the trees along the east fence line.

As we continued around the front field I did my next sketch was of the south east corner of the field at the bottom of the hill before the start of the forested area at the south of the property.
