Mr. Bud - A Work in Progress

Today I don't have a lot of time to work on painting so I have transferred the image of the Mr. Bud onto the canvas.

I will post this painting at a later date once more of it has been completed.














Now we have to head into Toronto to spend time with the in-laws and take them out to see the autumn colours and later go out for supper.

Magnetawan River 3 - A Work in Progress

This is another sketch I did of the Magnetawan River while I stayed at the Knoepfli Inn with the Outdoor Painters' Group.














I will post this piece at a later date once I have either started the painting or finished it completely.

Stuffed Animals - A Work in Progress

The Still Life class at KAGS has started back again for the autumn season.

For the first one we decided on a playful collection of stuffed animals and dolls which were set on and around the chaise lounge at the Gallery.

Magnetawan Birches - A Work in Progress

Today we headed up to Magnetawan to the Knoepfli Inn for our annual paint out and visit to Algonquin Park on the return trip.

By the time we arrived and unpacked there was very little time to do a lot of work on a painting; so I set up my things just slightly up the road from our cabin and started painting the birch trees at the edge of the road.

I will post this painting at a later date one I have more of it completed.

Reflections 1 and 2

Water is an amazing substance, that is tasteless, ordourless and transparent.
Due to its transparency, aquatic plants are able to live beneath its surface; which allows such a wide range of animal life to survive.

Often in nature you can see it as a solid, a liquid and a gas, all at the same time.


Reflections 1

What I find the most interesting is how something as transparent as water can be so reflective.

On a calm surface it will often reflect a mirror image of things on the shore, or the clouds and sky above it. With a slight ripple on the water it will pick up the shimmer from the setting sun or the moon's glowing light.

These two original 4" x 6" watercolour paintings when framed will be available for $125.00 each.

Now I had better get my things together and head up to Magnetawan for the paint out.
