Morning Sky

It is a beautiful, sunny day even though it started at 32F (0C) in the morning, the temperature quickly rose to a high of 62F (16.7C).

I wanted to complete this painting that I found in storage earlier this month. All that need to be done was to put in a few darks into the bottom of the closer shore and the reflections into the water.

Using a mixture of ultramarine blue, burnt sienna and alizarin crimson I put the darks randomly onto the shoreline below the trees and just above the rocks.

From there I added a few darks into the light and mid tone reflections already in the water.

Lastly, I put a bird into the sky.

This original 16" x 20" acrylic painting when framed will be available for $375.00.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and enjoy the artwork. I hope you will return often.

Pink Sky

This is an original 9-3/4" x 13-3/4" framed, watercolour.

The soft pastel pinks and peach tones of the early morning sky reflect into the calm water of the lake. The mirror reflections disturbed only by the passing of a shoveller duck.

Thank you to new collectors Mr. and Mrs. Homberg of Midhurst, Ontario on their purchase of this painting. SOLD

This image is available as a decorator print. It has a 9-3/4" x 13-3/4" image surrounded by a 1-1/2" white border for $15.00. It can also be remarqued for an additional $25.00. Prints are shipped flat and unframed.

Thank you for coming to look at my artwork.

Evening Sailor

After almost a week of unseasonably warm and sunny weather giving a tantalizing taste of spring the weather has turned back to the usual colder temperatures thanks in part to the wind.

The sound of the wind brings back memories of breezy and warm summer days when there is no better way than to spend it out on the lake sailing.

This is an original 6" x 14-3/4” framed watercolour available for $225.00.

Rising Mist

Early morning on the lake as the sun gradually brightens the sky and the rising mist shrouds the shoreline in a delicate, gently moving veil. This is a quiet time, silent except for the haunting melody of a loon's call.

This original 6-1/2" x 14-1/4" framed watercolour is available for $275.00 by contacting the artist. SOLD

Rosy Morn

Another beautiful day has dawned and this little 3-1/2" x 7" painting is what I worked on this morning. It shows the tranquil colours of early morning reflected into a calm lake.

When it is framed it will be available for $85.00.

Now I have to get my paintings ready and loaded into the car for the Women in Art Show this evening.

Hopefully we won't get the rain they are calling for later today, but it is better than more snow.

Quiet Pastures

This is an original 4-3/4" x 6-1/2" framed watercolour available for $125.00.

In the early morning after the horses have been fed and turned out, before I begin the barn chores, I often take a little time to look out over the fields and watch as the sun rises and burns off the fog.

This is probably one of the most peaceful times of the day. The silence is broken only by the occasional sound of one of the horses as they graze in the pasture.

Thank you for coming to look at my artwork and I hope you will return often.

Afterglow

Even though it is winter I can sit out on my glassed in front porch and enjoy the sunsets.

With some of them if I painted the bright fluorescent colours that I see people may wonder what type of non-prescription drugs I was taking when I did them.

Please excuse the reflections, as I had already framed it before I took the photograph.

This original 9" x 12" framed, watercolour painting has been purchased by returning collector Walter Myrka of Toronto, Ontario. SOLD

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and look at the artwork.
