I started by mixing a blue grey of French ultramarine blue and burnt sienna and brushed in the shadows onto the left side of the birch tree trunks.
Next, I mixed darks using the shadow colours in different strengths and added a small amount of raw sienna to some of them and added more markings onto the tree trunks and branches to give them shape and definition.
Lastly, I mixed a green of Antwerp blue and raw sienna and added a tree covered hill in the background and added more grasses.
