It is sunny and warm, with the temperature reaching 77F (25C) and I was waiting for my friends to pick me up and we would go out and sketch a little later.
I picked these two sketches that I had started earlier this year (see post on 29 February 2016) and decided while I waited I could start to paint them.
Being sure to match the side edge, I wet the paper above the ground line.
With a mixture of French ultramarine blue and a small amount of burnt sienna I painted in the sky on both pieces.

I set them aside to dry.
As I started to mix the colour for the tree trunks my friends arrived early and it was time to leave.
I will post both of these paintings again at a later date, once more work on them has been completed.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and look at the artwork. I hope you will return often.
