The sun was setting and I wanted to capture the warm muted yellow and orange colours in the sky.
I used a limited palette of raw sienna, burnt sienna and French ultramarine blue.
After wetting the paper pure raw sienna was washed into the sky and foreground.
Next burnt sienna was brushed into various areas of the sky and it mixed with the raw sienna already on the paper to give a warm orange colour.
A mix of French ultramarine blue and burnt sienna wash brushed into the sky as clouds.
Once the paint was totally dry a few tree shapes were lightly sketched onto the paper.
I will post this painting at a later date once the trees have been painted.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and look at the artwork.
