While going through some of my partially completed paintings I came across this one that I had started last year (see post on 19 Aug 2010).
It needed something in the foreground with more colour to give the painting some life and to tie everything in the painting together.
What would be better than a canoe? It lacks an engine to break the peaceful silence of the morning and it doesn't disturb the water very much as it glides across the lake.
I drew in the canoe and started painting it a nice red using alizarin crimson. Unfortunately I had unexpected company drop by and was not able to finish the entire image.
I will post this painting at a later date when it is completed.
