During the winter many of the shallow lakes freeze over completely.
Lake Chemong during the winter is often used as a roadway for vehicle traffic from Curve Lake to Ennismore which saves about 20 minutes of travel time from the traditional roads.
The sky, background trees and snow have been completed. The foreground snow covered rocks and shore have been indicated.
I will post this painting once I have decided where I want to put some of the main pine trees onto the shore.
