Mailbox 2 - A Work in Progress

Living in the country mailboxes at the end of the driveway are common.

Recently a number of us had to move our mailboxes due to new government regulations put in effect. It doesn't matter that the mailbox has been in the same place long before I moved here 34 years ago with never any problems.













So now instead of being just across the road, I have to walk down the very steep front hill to get my mail and then trudge back up it, that is if I feel like getting my exercise for the day.

I will post this painting at a later date once more of it is completed.

Tree Tops 5 - A Work in Progress

First I masked a couple of areas with liquid friskit and let it dry.

I started by painting in the sky and then sprinkling salt into the wet paint to create "snowflakes".

Once the paper was dry, I painted in some trees around the frisket and after the paint was dry I removed the masking.













There is a little more that will need to be done before this painting is finished and I will post it at a later date.

More Computer Problems

Sometimes I could really get to hate computers. But I have it back now and hopefully I will not have any more problems with it.

Take Time To... - A Work in Progress

Foals will often stop and take a long look at something new and different. In this case a foal about to scratch and itchy ear and noticing the opening and closing of the brightly coloured wings of a Monarch butterfly feasting on a flower.














I transferred the image of the foal, drew in a butterfly and some leaves that are against the sky and masked them out with liquid frisket.

I set this painting aside and I will post this painting at a later date once some of the painting has been completed.

Gardening - A Work in Progress

We had another large selection of items for the theme of Gardening for our Still Life class at KAGS today and again the class was well attended.

Gail brought in a large assortment of decorative bird houses, gardening tools, hats, packets of seeds and some spring flowers in pots.

I chose one section with an interesting bird house, and a small ceramic nesting bird.

I will post this at a later date after I work on it again.

OSWOA - Winter Trees 7

We haven't had a lot of snow this year and in some ways I miss the blanket of white covering the ground.

This is a painting of what winters are normally like with snow trapped in the branches of the trees.

ACEO - Midsummer Day 1

This is one of the many inlets on Chemong Lake near the Selwyn Conservation Area.

It is a quiet and peaceful area and offers great fishing if you are relaxing on a boat or casting from shore.
