OSWOA - Moonlit Pine 1

Every day I see the one pine tree standing all alone on the hill toward the back of the property. It looks so lonely, having been with its twin for well over a century.

I have painted the two pines with a full moon before and I thought I would paint the lone survivor of the storm on a bright moonlit night.

If you would like more information about OSWOA please go to my post on 12 March 2010.

The OSWOA shown here is an original watercolour painting using Artist quality Windsor & Newton paint on 300lb. Arches 100% rag, acid free watercolour paper. It is priced at $40.00 and sold unframed.

Heading Out

Today is the second day of the art show at Settler's Village in Bobcaygeon. Fortunately the schoolhouse has a number of doors and windows that can be left open to catch any breeze which helps to keep things a little cooler.

This is a small 5" x 7” framed watercolour that I had started in a workshop with Andres Bohecker, who is a well known seascape artist from British Columbia.

Thank you to returning collectors Mr. & Mrs. Don Kortkos of Pefferlaw, Ontario on their selection of this painting.

I would also like to thank new collector Ms. Leah Nord of Toronto on her purchase of Perfectly Purple.

Winter Afternoon

This is an original 14" x 18” framed acrylic.

Today is the first day of the Bobcaygeon Fine Art Festival at Settler's Village in Bobcaygeon. I will be in the Schoolhouse with Tom Young.

Congratulations to Mrs. Carol Hollingsworth of Peterborough, Ontario on her selection of this painting for her collection.

Please excuse the poor quality of the photograph but it was taken quickly inside the building before it left.

Thank you for coming to look at my artwork and I hope to see some of you at the show this weekend.

Winter Solo - A Work in Progress

We could use some rain, but there is none in the forecast until Monday at the earliest.

They did call for a cool and rainy spring which we did get as well as a very hot and dry summer. It seems that they are going to be right. So I have started another winter painting, which I will probably work on over the weekend at the Bobcaygeon show.

Now I had better get the truck loaded and go set up the art show. I hope to see some of you there this weekend.

Sand and Surf - A Work in Progress

Today is going to be another hot and humid day; what better way to spend it then by the lake?

I painted in the water using French ultramarine blue and Antwerp blue. Using a tissue I lifted some areas for the white caps on the tops of the waves.

I will post this painting at a later date when it is completed.

Open Water

This is an original 6-1/2" x 14-1/2” framed watercolour.

While the land is still covered with snow, spring is on its way as patches of water show through the frozen lake.

Thank you to returning collector Ms. Christine Wilson of Bobcaygeon, Ontario on her selection of this painting for her art collection.
